Creamy Hummus Recipe | How to Make Hummus

Today we are going to make super creamy hummusthat is so easy and healthy.
I am going to show you a cool technique to do that.
So let’s get started.
Soak dried chickpeas overnight in water with some baking soda
and rinse it.
Cook chickpeas with lots of water and somebaking soda, until the chickpeas are quite
mushy and falling apart.
You can see the seed coats will separate andfloat around.
Check to make sure that the chickpeas aresoft and mushy.
Process fresh garlic with fresh lemon juice until very finely blended.
And then chill this mixture.
This will also help with getting rid of thesharp taste of fresh garlic.
Next combine hot chickpeas with some tablespoonsof hot water and process it at high speed
and for a long time (about 2 to 3 minutes) until ultra smooth.
You can use a Vitamix if you have.
Then add some ground cumin if you prefer.
Make sure to check that it is finely blended.
That there are no coarse particles.
One secret to extraordinary hummus is to usebest quality tahini.
The one I used comes from Lebanon and I havementioned the brand name in the instructions.
It should be silky smooth and of pouring consistency.
Then add the chilled garlic lemon mixture.
Mix it up a little.
Tahini has heart healthy fats and is a goodsource of some minerals, antioxidants and
anti inflammatory nutrients.
Make sure to use ice cold water and whip tahiniat high speed using a stand mixer, until it
is fluffy and pale colored.
Hummus is very healthy.
It is a good source of plant protein, healthyfats, dietary fiber and antioxidant nutrients.
Then Add some salt.
The dietary fiber in hummus helps with growthof healthy gut bacteria and promotes intestinal
health.
So you can see I have whipped it up untilit forms some peaks.
Next we add the processed chickpeas to the whipped tahini and once again whip it up until it
is ultra creamy.
Hummus is a heart healthy food.
And it has slow digesting carbohydrates soit is suitable for diabetics and for weight
management as it is a very satisfying food,
It is gluten-free, nut-free and dairy-free,so it is especially suitable for those with
allergies and intolerances.
Garnish with extra virgin olive oil, pinenuts, fresh parsley, paprika or sumac.
And serve it with pita chips, crisp fresh vegetables, with wraps, sandwiches etc.
